Books are Magic

So you may have read about my passion project #sg50books50days on TODAY newspaper, where over 50 days yours truly will be putting 50 books (on Singapore or by Singapore authors) all around our country! What better year to do this than Singapore’s 50th birthday?

Currently we are at book number 14 of 50 and I’m super duper stoked that it’s all been supremely positive thus far. Also, a sweet icing on the cake is that about a third of the new book owners have made the effort to connect on social media 🙂 There’s a special connection when you allow yourself to be sucked into a good read, so I hope they allow the magic of words to happen!

I guess the whole book hunt idea pretty much went off to an auspicious start, when I got a message from the French tourist who found the very first book (Marina Bay Sins, which I left at Marina Bay Sands). The novel by popular writer, Neil Humphreys, travelled with him across Asia before heading back home to Paris. Très bien!

Another piece of happy bookish information I wanted to share with you… is that besides Amazon, iTunes and major bookstores, my books are now available on Murphys Magic Supplies! Based in USA, they’re the world’s largest magic distributor, so I was SUPER DUPER touched that despite me having retired officially from the stage last year, they still strongly believed in my brand and wanted to carry both titles: Who is Magic Babe Ning? as well as Adventures of 2 Girls!

The awesome folks at Murphys Magic Supplies even took time to specially create a scrolling banner for me that’s been on their main page since last month. Honestly, I am truly beyond touched. I’m very very VERY humbled too, receiving messages from kind and supportive magicians all over the world who have bought my book(s) and took precious time to reach out to me 🙂 #gratitude

Mucho kudos to my awesome magician buddies from all over the world who took time to give quotes, as well as, those who contributed brilliant magic tricks in my autobiography! And to you out there right now reading this… I sincerely hope you will enjoy the books and more importantly, may my true life stories of triumph over challenge and adversity inspire you to live life bravely and dance-hop-skip-shuffle-twerk to your own tune. Carpe diem!

PS: Stay tuned to new reviews* coming up shortly at 8am (Singapore time) 😉
