This book was voted the best mentalism product of 2014.

When you see the book you will notice the cover has a unique style. This is a good representation of the book. The layout of this book has been done by Phill Smith, if you magicians or mentalist ever need a website done contact this guy you will not be disappointed!

I will first discuss what I have learned from this book. Ken talks in this book that most mentalism is linear. A mentalist asks a person to think of a word in a book, ask to write down his thoughts and he guesses it.  This is also a big problem with most mentalism today they do not use interesting twist to make it more appealing and/or visual for the audience in other words people get bored.

Ken has created interesting presentations around different classics in mentalism. Like his routine Mr Golden Balls, this is a kurotsuke style effect in which 4 spectators each take a colored ball and leave the remaining one for the mentalist.

Ken has added a truth and a liar effect to this and a prediction with the remaining ball in a very interesting way every time when you think the effect is over there is another kicker that is revealed.

I think more mentalist should have this approach.

You will learn other interesting effects like his effect ‘afraid of dogs’, this is one of Kens favorite openers. It is a bank night routine, the mentalist asks the audience 3 times in which envelope the cheque is in for a 1000$ but each time the audience loses, when the audience loses a picture of Ken falls out. After 3 times the pictures is turned over and you predicted correctly the choices the audience is going to make.

There is also an effect in here where you bring a spectator on stage to a locked box.

The spectator is asked if they know the combination of this padlock. The spectator says No, they are asked to name the first digit the next questions is name any animal, the second digit, name any colour, the third digit, name any type of money the fourth digit.

The box is opened and all the spectators named items are in there. I use this effect allot in my show it is a real killer effect.

There is also his E1 effect which I really like, here 5 spectators are asked to think of an English word. A sixth spectator looks at all of these words and chooses 1 of these as his target word..

You predicted this word because you had each letter of this word in an Envelope that has been in view the entire time.

The writing style of Ken’s book is very funny written you will laugh out loud allot with this book because his approach as i mentioned before is completely different than most mentalists around the world. I would recommend this book to anyone who has a little bit of experience in mentalism and wants to upgrade their act or any magician who wants to have some mentalism acts in your show. In this book you will find allot of usable effects to put straight into your show.
