Review: Decisions Yes/No Edition by Mozique

[vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_custom_heading text=”Reviewer: John Teo”][vc_column_text]This effect was first available some 6 or 7 years ago.  It is now re-leased by Alakazam Magic of UK.

Decisions is an utility item that is specially gimmicked to enable you to predict the outcome of one of two possibilities made by a spectator.

It comes from the creative mind of Mozique and comprises 2 blank cards.  Each has a drawing of a speech bubble and inside it is printed one of the two outcomes, niz, Yes and No, Good and Bad, True and False, Right and Wrong, Male and Female, and other combinations.

In the basic effect, two cards are shown to depict Yes and No respectively.  They are turned face down, mixed, and one card left on the table, the other card is kept out of sight, say, in the performer’s pocket.  A spectator guesses which card is on the table.  She is always correct!

There is no sleight-of-hand being employed, no magnets or sticky stuff or rough and smooth, no wipe dry or nail writing.  If you wish, in some routines, you can make the spectator guess wrongly instead or correctly.  It is under your control at all time!

You receive an instructional DVD and the necessary cards.  There are two versions of Decisions.  One comes with the Yes/No gimmick and the other version comes with blank speech bubbles that allows you to print any two outcomes that you desire.  You have to specify which version you want when you place the order.

The gimmick is very well made.  You can examine it closely and yet you cannot discover how it works.  It also operates very smoothly.  The cards are hand made by the specialist of gaff cards, Rob Bromley.  As with all mechanical gimmicks, especially this one that is made out of card, you have to take care when using it, if you do not wish to purchase a replacement so soon.

Included in the DVD is an e-book of routines for Decisions by Mozique, Peter Nardi, Mark Elsdon, Looch, Ran Pink, Simon Grant and Richard Busch.

Decisions is a versatile gimmick.  You will find many uses for it in your own performance.  I predict Decisions will become a standard accessory in mental magic.
