Review: Loyalty by Paul Brook

[vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_custom_heading text=”Reviewer: Madame Curator”][vc_column_text]UK psychologist Paul Brook is a professional mentalist who has put up many good books and tools for the discerning performer, such as his brilliant Networker Deck, which yours truly personally reviewed earlier this year. He has released yet another one of his clever creations… Loyalty.

If you’re familiar with Paul’s existing body of work, you’d know that the man is an unapologetic perfectionist who releases products that aren’t just a mere straight forward trick… He puts out real world effects that typically have many layers that are well thought of. The kind of stuff workers would appreciate. Loyalty is no exception to the rule. With just these “everyday objects” on your keychain, you can do an impressive hat trick of a drawing dupe, number prediction and word revelation. You can even make your spectator the mindreader!

Personally, I feel Paul’s latest offerings could be priced higher. At 25 pounds, it’s a steal! You get three excellent gimmicks (built to last forever) that are wickedly designed on so many levels, as well as, secret links to Paul’s excellent instructions for Loyalty in the form of a private tutorial video and a well-written eBook nearly 50 pages long.

There’s many things I love about Loyalty. First of all, it is the perfect size for the close-up worker. It is not bulky or heavy, making pocket management a dream! There’s nothing out of place with these innocent looking plastic key fobs since it’s deemed an everyday object people are familiar with. Slide it into your pocket and it will provide you with plenty of arsenal in your next corporate close-up gig!

Much clever thought has been put in both the design and text on all sides, giving you a lot of presentational possibilities! You can easily determine any image, number and word your spectator is thinking of. It’s up to you however you’d like to structure your routine, since you’re the mindreader in charge. But Loyalty is really one of those effects that packs small and plays big. It’s completely examinable, easy to do, nothing to reset or replace/ refill. And because it is always 100% accurate, it allows you to focus on your presentation. Sweet.

The instructional video for Loyalty is presented by the creator himself. Professionally filmed with clear audio and visuals like the official trailer above, the online clip spans about 23 minutes long and is highly informative. The PDF gives even deeper insight, so I’d recommend you check both sets of instructions out. It’s not just about how to effectively use Loyalty, but there are many other topics on the performance that Paul expertly touches on like subtitles and nuances; solid stuff from his various books like Alchemical Tools (as pictured in my background) which is also available from his online store.

I highly recommend all of Paul’s material and if you haven’t yet been exposed to his work, Loyalty makes a great first introduction. Since this clever pocket mentalism miracle is designed to stay on your keyring, “Loyalty” makes an apt name since this mindreading tool will always be by your side. Two thumbs up!
