Review: Paul Harris Presents Phone Phreak by Jeff Prace & Paul Harris

[vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_custom_heading text=”Reviewer: John Teo” font_container=”tag:h3|text_align:left”][vc_column_text]This is an application for Apple’s iPhone.  It allows you to perform 3 plus 1 magical effects.

It is suitable for use with iPhone 4, 4s; 5, 5s; and 6.  You need to specify which model because, when you purchase the product, it comes with the customized phone casing for that model.  The instructions for use is downloadable from the web-site.  The application is downloadable from the Apple’s application store.

The 3 effects that you can perform with your iPhone are:

Bill Change

You tell the audience that you always keep emergency cash in your iPhone.  The audience can see a folded $1 bill underneath the transparent casing at the back of your iPhone.  But this is seldom enough for anything.  So, with a wave of your hand, the $1 bill changes into a $5 bill.  With another wave of the hand, the $5 bill becomes a $20 folded bill underneath the transparent casing.  The spectator can now lift off the back casing and retrieve the $20 bill herself!  Everything can be examined.

In another presentation, similar to Paul Harris’ “Whack Your Pack!” effect, the bill vanishes from the phone under a spectator’s hand to reappear in your hand.

You can change the currency of the bill from USA to that used in Europe, China, Japan, Macau and some other countries.  Unfortunately, Singapore currency is not in the list.  You will have to use patter to justify why you are using US bill.

T & R Photo

You show the audience that you keep a torn-up photograph of your dog in 4 pieces underneath the transparent casing at the back of your iPhone.  When you wave your hand over the 4 pieces, the 2 top pieces magically come together and become restored.  With another wave of your hand, the third, and finally, the last piece come together and form a complete photograph of your dog.  The now restored photograph can be taken out from under the back phone casing.  Again, everything can be examined.

Moving Logo

You are able to move the Apple logo at the back of the iPhone from one end of the phone to the other end.

Bonus Effect: Unplugged!

A spectator puts on the ear-phone to listen to the music in your iPhone.  You then show that you, with your mind power, can stop and start the music at will.  The ear-phone is now unplugged from the iPhone.  You now use your own body as a connector between the ear-phone and iPhone, and the spectator can continue to listen to the music from the iPhone!

For this effect, you will have to purchase and make your own ear-phone.  This is easily accomplished and is explained clearly in the instructions.

The Bill Change and Unplugged will become your favourite effects.

There is no sleight-of-hand.  There is no device that you need to secretly put on or take off the iPhone.  All the effects are reset instantly.  Everything is examinable!

In this modern age where people carry iPhones, Phone Phreak is a good way to show people that you are a magician.
