Hear ye, hear ye… If you are a bookworm like me who absolutely loves reading, I’ve got grrrrrrrreat news for you!
The SG50 Box Sale happens this 1-10 August 2015 from 11am to 7pm (Weekends & PH) and 11am to 2pm (Weekdays) at Pansing’s Warehouse located at 438 Ang Mo Kio Ave 10, Ang Mo Kio Industrial Park 1, Singapore 569619. The venue is located opposite Pathlight School, just above Rozel Furnishing Store.
To celebrate Singapore’s Golden Jubilee, the SG50 Box Sale lets you stuff an empty carton with books of your choice- for just S$50! Some of you may be aware that just back in April, the organizers had priced it at S$100/box when the sale was held at the Singapore Expo. So now, at just S$50/box, this really is a steal… but please remember, they’ve no fancy credit card machines so it’s cash or NETS only!
There’s more than 10,000 titles available at the sale, so you can definitely expect a wide range of reads. To sweeten the deal, if you are a Singapore senior citizen aged 50 years and above, just flash your NRIC for proof of age/ identity, and get one book of your choice completely FREE. No purchase required! This may just be a great time to spend some quality time with your (grand)parents over the holiday/ weekend.
I think this is truly a good value and Pansing also has a separate corner for single titled books with prices as low as 50 cents. Mind you… these are all brand new books, not second-hand copies or damaged rejects. One piece of advice I’d give though, if you’re a newbie to such events, is to bring a trolley with you since you’d most likely try to pack your cardboard box to the brim. Be sure to label your trolley (mark it boldly like your box) too, least someone wheels it off by mistake. Try to come early if possible, since parking may be an issue as the compound doesn’t have many lots.
One thing I can promise you is that it will be an experience. For full details and updates, see www.facebook.com/sgbookdeals
