Review: SYMBOL by Steve Cook

[vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_custom_heading text=”Reviewer: John Teo”][vc_column_text]Symbol is a straight forward, easy to understand and easy to do effect.

Performer shows 6 cards, each has a colourful ESP type symbol printed on it.  A spectator is asked to choose one symbol in a random manner.

She throws an imaginery die.  Whatever number the die lands on is used to choose one of the 6 symbols.  This turns out to match a prediction inside an envelope that the performer placed conspicuously aside on the table at the start of the effect.

For those who are familiar with the hot rod effect, this is not the hot rod 6-items force.  The choice of the symbol is straight forward and clean.  The thinking behind this effect by Steve Cook is truly clever.  It will not create any doubt in the spectator’s mind or cause any untoward suspicion.

You receive all the necessary cards, the prediction envelope and an instructional DVD.  The cards are in playing card size and beautifully printed in bright colours.  The envelope is a customed made black colour envelope and looks professional.  The DVD is well produced and Peter Nardi explains the effect well.

The additional ideas given by Peter Nardi, and especially the one from Titanas, are all practical and worth your considerations.  The effect resets instantly and has a great impact to the audience.
