Its my favourite genre in magic. Though I seldom use gimmicks but the sucker in me will buy all sorts of coin gaffs. I have many gaffs in my drawer, some mass produced and some made by fine craftsman.
This gaff I am reviewing is being mass produced by Tango. Tango has been known to produce gaffs of all sorts in many denominations. Some of the quality you get is what you pay for but some of them are pretty good, 3 in 1 is one of the better produced product.
I have a Triple Threat set made by Todd Lassen. It is similar to the 3 in 1 but the quality is top notched….so is the price. For those who are not as big a sucker as me, you can settle for Tango’s 3 in 1. At a fraction of Lassen’s price, you get a similar product (note: similar, they are not exactly the same). When I first look at it, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the gimmick. This set is pretty difficult to make and thus command a higher price. Part of the gimmick can be used on your regular Eisenhower coin too, making this set quite versatile.
This pic shows the coin with all gimmicks nested. It looks pretty awesome to me. Everything sits nicely.
This pic shows 1 part nested and 1 part unnested. The nested part is facing you. You can see that they are very well made.
This pic shows all gimmick unnested. Still looking pretty good.
So what can you do with this set? You can do quite a lot of things with it. There is a book by Mark Thams “3t” on the Triple Threat. You can probably apply the routines on this set. You can take a look at this basic routine I put up using this coin.
If you like coin gaffs, you should take a look at this set. There are even matching gaffs to go along with this set such as Tango Ultimate Coin (a superb gimmick), Tango Flipper and many other standard coin gimmicks. What you get is a 3 in 1 set WITHOUT any matching coins. Unlike Morgans, you can get Eisenhower coins pretty easily and affordable too.
