[vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_custom_heading text=”Reviewer: Ning”][vc_column_text]Description:

“This is ideal for any type of walk-about working condition from restaurant magic to bar magic to walk-around. It’s easy to do and fun to perform. This is what real magic would like if you had magical powers.” -Paul Romhany, *Reviews Vanish Magazine

“Amazing visuals! Years ago I would’ve said this HAD to be a camera trick. Bringing magic to the next level. Killer.”
– Justin Flom

From the creative minds of Brandon David and Chris Turchi comes an effect so clean and visual that you’ll fool yourself in the mirror over and over again. Imagine being able to take a normal pack of gum and make the wrapper disappear right in front of your spectators’ eyes. This is the routine you open your walk around gigs with: it’s hyper visual, easy to do, and will have your spectators chewing for more.

  • Gimmick comes fully made and ready to perform
  • Really good effect for your social media
  • Easy to perform
  • An organic object
  • Hand out the gum pieces to your spectators

It’s not just any gum magic, it’s Oh So Juicy!

“Practical visual magic with everyday objects that packs a serious punch! For close up and strolling I couldn’t think of anything better!”
– William Draven

“If you’re looking for a tasty eye popping opener, look no further! Oh So Juicy is my new go to gum effect! You blow their minds with the visualness of the pack vanishing and then tell them to chew on it a while, while handing them some gum. Sharing is caring! Love this!”
– Steven Himmel

“So visual! So fun! THIS is pretty damn SWEET!”
– Eric Ross

REVIEW

Who isn’t a fan of fun, visual, snappy magic? Watching Brandon David and Chris Turchi’s promo video for their latest release, Oh So Juicy, got me all excited… I couldn’t wait for the package to arrive! So this is yours truly in her PJs doing a quick demo right out of the box.

Just a quick demo of Oh So Juicy in my Sunday yukata ^_^

FYI the above easy-peasy routine (sealed pack of gum opens up magically before transforming into a single stick of gum) is just one of the several versions taught in their video instructions hosted on Murphy’s Magic website. It was the only one I could do at this point of writing the review TBH since where I’m currently based doesn’t retail Juicy Fruit gum and I’ll have to re-dress the gimmick at some point with something available from our local supermarkets.

Having said that, those of you with a quick and nimble eye would have noticed that to sidestep copyright infringement, the creators of Oh So Juicy have done some creative photoshopping to have the yellow label called Ruicy Fruit instead LOL

Those of you who have an even quicker and nimbler eye may have also noticed that the elastic thread actually broke as I was doing the demo (though I just continued to the end since the show must go on), so imagine the best case scenario to look even more amazing than my casual demo above… the change would look tighter and snappier.

So coming back to re-dressing the special gimmick, I’ll definitely need to do an overhaul since I’ll now have to work on the re-threading (thankfully a small amount is supplied) too. However, I still think the trick is worth it. I imagine it will work nicely as an opener if you’re doing close up magic in a walkaround setting, besides street magic for TV or YouTube. IT IS SUPER VISUAL!

What you receive in the box are the link and password to the online video instructions about 51 mins long, with a handful of ways to present the effect in various ways: on the table, standing up, with gum, and without as you saw my demo above; besides the special gimmicks you need for Oh So Juicy to work. Obviously it would be far better if you have access to sticks of Juicy Fruit (get the 5 pack, not the bigger ones).

The gimmick works right out of the box, but I’d suggest caution as I only dared to handle the fragile gimmick only after watching the instructions… yet it still broke. However this is easily fixed, and you’re shown how to do so accordingly. Fragility and reliability factors are just real life elements you need to deal with performing wise when it comes to thread work, so I’m taking it with a pinch of salt.

Even though I’ll need to re-dress and fix my gimmick, which should take about half an hour, I genuinely appreciate that much thought and careful consideration has been made for Oh So Juicy… from good pointers in their online video (minding your angles, etc), to even anticipating the customer’s needs (packaging extra thread and showing how to re-dress/ re-thread the gimmick), it’s clear that Brandon and Chris are proud of their product, which is my personal favourite of theirs so far.

It’s no wonder than Oh So Juicy is such a hit since it’s quick to learn, easy to do, and will last you a long time (just get more thread when you purchase this, trust me, you’ll need it in the long run). I’m curious what they’ve got up their sleeves next, sinceBrandon David and Chris Turchi are both very creative magicians. Recommended  🙂
